At LYSS, we understand that students coming to our barn are coming from different backgrounds, with different experiences, and we strive to meet each student and family where they are--whether it’s owning a horse or learning to lead one on the ground. Our goal is for students joining us at any level to continue to grow and progress through our program.
We operate on an annual term of 46 weeks on, with 6 weeks off for horse rest and veterinary care throughout a calendar year. You can find our academy lesson schedule on the Google Calendar page of our website.
We require all new students to take an Introductory Lesson which includes:
Please note that helmets will be provided for the first lesson. After that, we require that each student have their own fitted helmet and appropriate riding boots. LYSS is happy to assist new riders and their families with procuring the appropriate equipment.
